19 Brown Paper Bags

I was content with the idea that I would be teaching from home and I had adjusted to the use of different apps, websites and packets to support my students and their families at home. I hadn't thought about the fact that I would eventually have to go back to school and get my classroom ready for summer.

I honestly have no words to describe my feelings of bagging up all of my students' belongings for them to pick up from school. I was unsettled with the thought of leaving all our memories in the classroom and ending my first year of teaching Kindergarten, therefore, I made other plans.

I contacted my students' families and set up times to drop off treats to my students and see their faces as a way to commemorate the end of their time in Kindergarten. It was what I needed and I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to see my Kindergarten Kings and Queens.

Now- that's definitely not the end of our time together. I still keep in touch with a bunch of them, but I'm pretty sure they check on me more than I check on them.

No matter how you decided to end this school year, you did it your way- and that's what matters. Remember that this year not only made you a better teacher, but it has prepared you for anything that life will throw at you.

Take some time to recharge and self care. You deserve it!
